Glossary

Audience Reach -
The number of audience members who are capable of receiving a media message.

Independent Radio -
Often means a commercial radio that is not owned and operated by a government/government body and are therefore independent as they run themselves. 

Community Radio -
Is where a radio station(s) are there to serve the (Local) community it is based in, by providing them (the community) with a needed or wanted programme.

Ofcom -
Ofcom states that certain television and radio broadcasters have to fulfil certain requirement as part of their licence to broadcast.

Public Service Broadcast(PSB) -
Refers to broadcasting intended for the publics benefit rather than commercial interests.
